Micro Modal® consists of 100% pure cellulose, which is an essential component of all plants. The Micro Modal Fabric used by Intimo is sourced from plantation Beech Trees which are a renewable resource. Skin will breathe more easily with Micro Modal® as this fibre absorbs up to 50% more humidity more rapidly than cotton and also lets it evaporate more quickly. This keeps the skin dry - it can breathe. This is why Modal is the ideal partner for clothing that is worn close to the skin: underwear and nightwear, sports and active wear. Micro Modal® accounts for optimum comfort.Micro Modal® is especially smooth and has a natural feeling like "skin on skin". It is substantially more delicate than cotton, wool and even silk. Modal fibres have a smooth surface that prevents lime deposits and detergents during washing this ensures that the fabric always stays absorptive, soft and smooth, even after many washes and colours remain as brilliant as they were on the very first day. Modal keeps fabrics from becoming rough to the touch and acquiring a grey film. Fabrics fall smoothly and with a flow. The smooth surface of the fibre creates a silky, brilliant lustre on garments made of Modal® blends. Fabrics made of Micro Modal® with a component of elastane, as the Anywear Essentials do, fall smoothly and with flow. The fabric becomes softer, cooler and has a better drape quality. To maintain an as new appearance to your garment Micro Modal® should only be handwashed and never dried in a clothes dryer. A small amout of shrinkage will occur with the first wash. Micro Modal meets Oeko Tex Standard 100.
